This is where everyone goes for spring time NW winds. On a good spring day it can blow 30 mph or better! The harbor is enclosed, so the largest the swell gets is a foot or so, but big enough for jumping on 5.0 or smaller days. Two very important things about sailing here: 1) From May on you need a weed fin. 2) It is only sailable at tides of 2+ feet. Otherwise, you will be in the mud. Higher tides are best. When wind and tide cooperate, it can be super fun. The water is warmer in the harbor, but you still need a 3-2 wetsuit. This launch is for windsurfers only (buildings and powerlines), kiters launch off the beach on the backside of Doran.
