Windsurfing near CSB = State Park

Voted the Best Beach in America several years ago, the State Park offers some of best sailing ops in the Panhandle. Gulf side fires mornings and early afternoons on a NW after a frontal passage during the late fall, winter and spring. On big days, waves are thick and crunchy and require some skill & luck getting beyond the near shore pound. Usually a pretty stiff current so bring your on-shore fin. No Gulf hazards.

Flat water sailing can be had across the street in St. Joe bay. Beware of submerged concrete stuctures near shore and the oyster/sand bars.

2+ hours west of Tallahappy. 1-1/2 hours east of Panama City. A favorite weekend spot for Atlanta sailors.

Camping and cottage rentals are available. Check here for more info: http://www.abfla.com/parks/StJoseph/stjoseph.html
