Canyon Creek
Located 15 miles west of the town of Slave Lake Rigging: Grass Launch is smooth, rocks for the first 25 feet, then a sand bottom. Sailing is mostly straight out from the launch site Conditions: chop for about first 1/2 mile, than large rolling swells in stonger winds. If the wind is north large swells to shore Wind direction: works best in west, northwest, northeast and east. Also sailable on SE though there is a wind shadow and off shore wind shift near shore. South is unsailable. Hazards: None, other than a breakdown far from shore could result in a very long swim. Site at times will have more wind than Slave Lake particularly on E or NE days.
