Windsurfing near Chickenbone Beach

Located just past the last condos on Pensacola Beach before you get to Fort Pickens, large parking lot on the right side. Beach faces North, best winds W-N-E with NW and NE working the best, usually associated with fronts from late fall to early spring. Big parking lot or beach for rigging. Watch out for gravel and pieces of asphalt on the beach and into the water thanks to Ivan. Relatively shallow to the right in front of the condos, deeper to the left. On NE wind head down towards Ft Pickens to get out of the wind shadow from Gulf Breeze for slightly stronger winds and bigger swells. A decent spot for beginners if wind is anything West making Quietwater (http://thewindmap.com/wiki/index.php/Quietwater_Beach-North_America) offshore. Due to flat narrow beach, site is sailable on SW through SE, causing for flat offshore conditions great for speed runs parallel to the beach, as long as you can get back upwind when you want to come in.
