I have never windsurfed here but I have seen more windsurfers here than anywhere else on the lake. It seems to blow the hardest/most consistent here than anywhere else on the lake.
It is true, the wind is OK at this spot. Typically in the summer the afternoon provides 12-18 mph winds for 2-3 hours per day, 2-4 days per week. Not great but better than nothing.
Typical sail: 7.5 and up. BRING A FLOATER. The lake is very inconsistent!!!! It can be blowing 20 a hundred feet from the spot that has 3 mph.
The air has very little punch to it.
Best launch is the park about two hundred yards west of the coast guard station. Easy launch, sandy beach and grills to cook on when you are done.
