This is the kiteboarding beginner's area. Salt Air Kiteboarding school teaches here. http://saltairkiteboarding.com/. People board primarily a half mile or so west(north) of the volleyball courts where the homeless people seem to like to hang out most. The beach is usually uncrowded.
