There are three good launch spots at this lake. One is at the end of N 1200E road, which is called the west access boat launch. This launch spot is good for ssw,w,e or any north wind. It has a parking lot with nice grassy areas to rig.
The second launch spot is on the north side of the lake off of E 2500 N road. There is a grassy trail just off the road shoulder that leads right to the water, you can't miss it. It is a nice secluded spot that is best off a ssw, se or straight south wind. There is minimal parking because you use the road shoulder.
The third launch spot is inside of comlara park. Turn right into comlara go past the campgrounds take the first right go through the parking lot until you come to another right, take that one into a parking lot which has a pavillion at the end of it. You can rig in the grass right there and carry your gear down the hill to the water. This spot is best for ssw or s. Anything else is pretty wind shadowed, except for nw, but you have to go upwind a little to get the good rides.
There are seven locals who frequent this lake on any given windy day. Surfing is the best in the spring, early summer and fall. The lake isn't frozen usually until january and is thawed usually by late febuary or early march. Most of the windsurfers here wear drysuits, so unless the lake is frozen it's doable to locals.
