Hey all, This is one of the nicest places to windsurf on the east coast. 5 mile wide bay...lots of shallow 2-3 mile stretches...and very few other windsurfers or kiters. The only problem is that you kind of have to have a house or rental on Fire Island. Any wind direction is windsurfable. If you want to windsurf in the ocean...its a 5 minute walk from the bay.
