With a good East or Southeast breeze Farm Island offers a huge shallow area/sand bar for flat water sailing. East winds will build swells in the main channel, providing sweet ramps after reaching max speed on the flats.
The flats offer a great place for beginner kiters or windsurfers. Ankle to knee deep water.
Spring and Fall are peak winds. Summer is storm sailing mostly.
