This site is great for a Southeast to southwest wind which is the main direction in the summer. When the wind picks up this is really a great place to learn to gybe as the water is chest deep 200 yards from shore. With a south wind you parallel the shore so are always in shallow water so waterstarts are a snap. You will probably be sailing by yourself as only about 3 to 4 of the Madison sailers sail here regularly.
