Popular beach for Edinburgh windsurfers. Works in wind from west through to north. Can be sailed in south westerlies however most local sailors will sail Longniddry in such conditions.
As your coming into Gullane from the west take one of the first lefts as you enter Gullane. This takes you down to the car park. There is sometimes a fee for parking. No anti caravan parking barriers at October 2005. Parking is protected by bushes and even when windy it is sheltered for rigging. Once rigged access to beach is via two possible paths. Most use the path to the east which is more direct.
Works at all states of tide.
Well used and on a good day should be at least half a dozen sailors out..
