Meigs Point at Hammonasset State Park, Connecticut is better in easterly wind directions, from NNW to SSE, (and in the summer it is one of the only places to launch, when there really is no wind in CT). You can launch by the east side of the jetty (any season), or on the rocky shore that faces due east behind the bushes along a nature path that goes along the east side shore. If there are no lifeguards around, the whole south-westerly facing beach opens up for sailing. The beach is the place in S to NNW wind directions.
