A good spot that does not get too crowded. Mostly independent from the tide.
You can inflate your kite on the grass atop the dune and then carry it to the beach. There is also a good wide beach for rigging and launching.
The harbour provides some shelter from the wind and chop, continue out for clean wind.
This is a good spot for a downwinder to Brighton or St Kilda.
[edit]
Best wind direction
Southerly or South Westerly. A sea breeze often comes in during the afternoon.
[edit]
Season
Spring through to Autumn is warmest and has the best winds - September to March

Any local hazards
Small rock groynes jutt out from the beach, but are easily avoided. There are shallow reef areas close to shore near the first groyne
