Nice flatwater site. Park right along the road by the water, grass rigging area, and a few picnic tables, No fees. Great restaurant across the road for apres beers & burgers. Lake Macatawa is nicknamed Lake Macatoilet, but the water really isn't bad. Some zebra mussels, but mainly sandy bottom. Boat traffic isn't terrible, however there is a pretty steady stream of people in the channel heading out to the big lake on any given weekend. Channel is on the south side of the lake, so it doesn't really interfere with typical baf routes. The first 50 feet out are shallow, but past that its relativly deep, and weed free. Wind is best on a SW or W. Can be fluky though due to the row of tall dunes that block the wind comming of the big lake. However in the fall and spring when the big lake is cold and the waves are silly high, Lake Mac has great flat water sailing with small chop.
