Premier wavesailing site that requires confidence in the surf. Can be light on the inside and rip your arms off on the outside. Requires patience in larger surf, don't just charge out without watching for a while. Once you are out of the slot, head downwind towards Lanes until you hit planing speed.
This place can be very easy to sail or can kick your butt. The locals and foreign crowd can often jibe onto your wave without warning. If you go down get back up quick or you might be buying new gear earlier than you wanted to. Sail downwind to Lanes if it is too crowded at Hookipa.
On flat days sail out about a half a mile to see the turtles.
