J. Percy Priest Lake, Nashville, TN.
This lake ia approx. 23 miles long. The place with the best wind exposure is unofficially known as Cook Point. From the dam, drive east until it deadends, then turn right on New Hope Road. Go to the end of the road, which ends in a "T". Turn right, go to the end of the road which ends with a hard left. Go left, go to the end of the road, and you are there.
WIND EXPOSURE: Okay for SE, great for south through northwest, 100 yard wind shadow in due north.
BOAT TRAFFIC: There is a boat ramp near Cook Point which is frequented by boaters/PWC in warmer weather. PWC sometimes use our beach and park their craft right in the launch area and cause lots of chop on ingress/egress.
LOCAL CONDITIONS: Wide shortboards with 9.0+ sails are the call most of the year, but some years bring 10-15 5.5 days and a few 4.5 days.
