Windsurfing near Jalama

Jalama Beach is typically an advanced-expert sailing venue however, there is a chance you may find a flat-ish day there (1-3ft shorebreak). Gear is regulalry broken as the wave breaks top-bottom and crushes everything it breaks on ;) Seriously though, you should be an experienced wave-sailor to go for it here - but the beauty of the drive off HWY 1 and the "Jalama Burger and Beer" while watching people "go off" can be just as good. Camping is out of control during peak season, but you never know till you go ;) Good luck and this is the land of changing winds...ask others before you head out about the conditions....don't get stuck too far downwind of the General Store or you may be in real trouble. There is pay phone - no cell service as of 2005, day-use is usually no problem no matter when you go. Jalama-Paul runs a sort of blog at: http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/Jalama/
