Kimmeridge bay aka Kbay

Probably one of the best wave sailing spots on the South Coast of the Uk.

Works best in a W-NW wind. But is also sailable in SW and SE.

There are 3 main sailing areas:

The bay - smaller waves and relatively safe

The ledges (under the cliff) - bigger waves, stronger rips and much more exposed. usually up to 5ft bigger than the bay

Broad bench - Classic point break, with a fast powerful wave. This is located within an Army gunnery target range, so don't sail over here if the red flags are flying, or you might find your sails aren't as bomb proof as they promised!

Launching - Usually from the small slip way on the east of the bay.

Hazards - You will be sailing over rock ledges that WILL take out the bottom of your board if you are not careful. However, its not hard to avoid the rocks. keep out of waves that are breaking at knee high, they will be on shallow water. There is one large rock in the bay named 'the fridge' - it sticks out well above all the others.[[1] (http://www.wacoreenactment.org/kbay/IMG_4467sml.jpg)]
