The winds are gusty but the scenery and the location make this a great spot for summer windsurfing, winter sailing, and winter kiting. There is an argeement not to kite here during the summer because of the gusty winds, the large number on canoes and kayaks on the lake, and the traffic (cars and pedestrians) around the lake. Beginners can pick up some great tips from some of the regulars. When the winds not blowing, it's a great place to people watch. Park lots on the North and South side of the lake but good parking and launching at several areas around the lake. The lots are pay lots so buy a yearly park pass, pay by the hour, or you will pay the $30 ticket.
