Launch from Mamas Fishhouse or sail down from Hookipa. Surf can be as good as Hookipa with better crowd. There is no rescue so you better be heads up. If the wind dies try heading way out to sea to catch the east south east wind. Usually that will get you back in. If not drop down below Mamas where there is a little slot that is easy to get in.
Don't underestimate the size on big winter swells. You will be shopping for new gear if you get caught inside. There are alot of peaks between Hookipa and mamas. Check them all out before you go out. Spend 15 minutes if you haven't sailed there before to save alot of money.
