Best spot to sail NE in the Cantabrian Sea. NE is a dry wind so expect a sunny day with little swell. It usually blows at 4-5 Beaufort and is rather steady - a 6m2 sail will do the job. Leave the car at the end of the beach, a place called Riaño de Escalante.
It's also posible to sail W wind in the river. Then the weather will be rainy and the wind will blow at 4 Beaufort with some strong gusts up to 6 Beaufort. The problem is that W wind tends to change to NW and eventually N, and the mountains in Santoña are an obstacle for the wind in that direction. If you want to sail in the river leave your car next to the camping.
