Works in winds from southerly through to northerly. Particularly useful for Edinburgh Windsurfers looking for somewhere in the prevailing south westerlies.
Can be reached from Edinburgh by taking the A1 south and taking the turning for Longniddry. Drive through the town past the railway station and then take the first left at the roundabout. This will take you down to the coast where you take a right and the car park is 50m on the left. Note there are anti caravan bars at the entrance to the car park and van drivers may be prevented from entering the car parked area.
Works at all states of tide. To the right of the bay there is a small headland of rocks and anybody sailing should be cautious to avoid contact with rocks. If the wind starts to blow more westerly this beach still works but the majority of sailors move round to Gullane.
See www.cwsc.org.uk/forums/ for contact with locals that regularly sail the beach.
About 30 minutes drive from Edinburgh
