Windsurfing near Lysterfield Lake

Nearby Windguru Forecasts

Lysterfield is a freshwater lake ideal for beginners or those who want a flatwater blast.

Being up in the hills, it rarely holds breeze from a consistent direction. In fact, one of the old boys who sails there reckons the wind is so fluky, that if you sail there, you can sail anywhere !

Best WInd Direction is NW although it can be a bit of fun in a SW Wind speed is generally about 5 knots less than the Bay

There plenty of grass for rigging but a few thing to look out for: 1) On hot days, the 10 minute parking rule is enforced, so you may need to dump your gear and shift your car up to the car park 2) Lysterfield Sailing Club normally race on a Saturday, so it can get a little busy around the boat ramp.
