Booties, booties, booties. Oh did I mention you should wear booties as the bottom consists of slime with grit in it, lovely.
However it's not tidal as it's a fairly enclosed estuary and a good deal of it is chest depth water except in the middle making it a great location for beginners if you don't mind the muck.
