Windsurfing near Manly

Nearby Windguru Forecasts

Picks up more breeze in a Northerly than Wellington Point and suits port tack jumping when the wind is from the North. In a south Easter gets a good clear breeze with a swell around 1 metre that is quite steep (Wellington Point gets more swell when a south easter has been blowing for a few days). In Northerlies you end up going back and forth across the boat channel leaving Manly Harbour, which can get quite busy at times.

At low tide you have to launch from the rock wall and potentially wade out through 20 to 30 metres of shallow muddy water. Sand banks further out at low tide can be a problem in SE or E winds. Booties recommended.

At high tide you can also launch from the small beach in Rose Bay. Rose Bay is a good spot for beginners a couple of hours each side of high tide.
