Windsurfing Launch off Christman Road. Find boat southern most boat ramp on the SouthEast side of the lake. Gear may be unloaded at beach, but respect no parking restrictions and move vehicle to marked spaces in upper parking lot.
Best on NW and N winds, ok for W, far from ideal with SW winds. Due south or east wind results in a large wind shadow at launch site. Better to sail Springfield Lake on S and East winds.
Set up area is grassy and beach has sand/rock bottom at launch.
Please note that in season, water fowl hunting is permitted at Nimisila Resevoir, by permit only. Windsurfers have respectfully avoided sailing on the lake during peak hunting times.
