Go to end of Oyster Creek Rd. from Lowland, NC. Oyster Creek is sheltered behind an extensive hammock island with pine forest but is pretty far out on this peninsula. There is a boat ramp (Scooter asks for $5 to launch) with a possible short schlog out. There is a marina at the end of the road, with permission you might launch there. Spot holds some potential for good flatwater sailing on NW-NE, as it is pretty long east-west trend, but waves from the sound would be blocked by the hammock island.
