In the Cape Point Nature reserve. Big waves, for better / expert sailors. Very dangerous area. Sharks and strong rips. If you get in trouble here it's serious eh!
Sharks... I think you are a little off. The great whites, which is what most people think of are not prevalent on the Atlantic side, the water is too cold for their liking. The sharks like to hang out around the abundant food source of Seal Island in False Bay. In 30 odd years I have only heard of 1 shark attack on humans on the Atlantic side. A hungry shark got blown off course during a big storm and landed up at Kommetjie. That aside I never heard of a windsurfer getting munched in the Cape by a shark (swimmers and surfers... yes, but the odds are rather low).
As for the other comments. Platboom is a pretty narly spot. Not for beginners and one is quite likely to trash ones gear at some point. The waves are not always huge, but when it works they can get massive.
Because the spot is in the nature reserve you must pay to enter. Ps: You are more likely to get harassed by baboons than munched by a shark.
