East end of Lake Erie is one of the most consistent places to sail in Southern Ontario. SW fills in much better than the GTA area.

Direction S to W. SW is most common

Launch You can launch from 2 spots: 1) The bottom of Pleasant Beach: Public sandy beach and decent beach break above 20kts. There are hazards on the beach (big metal thing), so it's not often used by kiters.

2) Sherkston Shores Community (West of pleasant beach, in-front of houses): I've never launched there but that's where all the kites come from. I'm assuming the community doesn't mind people launching but it could be private property. No significant beach break and the bottom has some uncomfortable rocks in the shallow area. However, further offshore there's a shoal that provides some fun waves and starboard ramps. Also, it's very easy to sail upwind to the shoal from the pleasant launch (1 long tack).
