The most popular site in the Pensacola area due to easy access. Located just across the Pensacola Beach Bridge, about 1/4 mile past the toll booth ($1), on the left there is a gravel/sand parking lot and boat ramp. The beach faces East so best wind directions are N-E-SE. Bottom is sand and weeds, fairly shallow for first hundred feet or so. Relatively protected, so great for beginners in onshore winds until it really picks up. During the summer it can get pretty crowded with swimmers, boaters, jet-skis, etc if the weather is nice and the wind is light. In the off season if the wind is cranking the beach will be empty except for sailors. Rigging is either right on the beach, or in a bit of grass between the parking lot and road. Kiter-friendly also unless the beach is crowded with non-sailors.
