50 minutes from Yakima on Highway 12, or 2.5 hrs from Seattle. Beautful lake, lots of nearby hiking. Launch at boat launch, parking free to windsurfers. Nice rigging area, small chop, a little gusty but no worse than the gorge. Shorty wetsuitable by August.
Usually less windy than Lake Wenatchee or Gorge, but 5.x conditions not uncommon, and it gets the same cross-mountain gradient effect. It's blowing if: Yakima has W winds, Toledo-Yakima pressure gradient >10, Ellensburg blowing >20mph.
