Roys Bay can have some of the best windsurfing in Wanaka when the westerly gales arrive in Spring. Lake swell can build to over 8 foot with great sailing right in front of the Wanaka township. Waves can dump right on beach so best to launch from around side of lake nearer Edgewater Hotel.
