Windsurfing near Safety Beach (BP)

Safety Beach (BP)

Safety Beach, also known as BP by the locals because of it's close proximity to the BP service station sports a small dirt carpark with a large grassy rigging area only metres from the water. In a west or south-west wind this location offers some excellent bay wave ramps for jumping.

The whole area should be ideal for launching kites due to the long beaches.

Best Wind West-South-West:too much south in the wind will cause 'Arthurs Seat' (a small mountain to the south)to either block the wind or cause it to act unpredictably. West: onshore but enjoyable for some waveriding North-West

Season Winter for Northerlies Spring & Summer for South-Westerlies

Local Hazards Deep drop straight from the shore so don't delay on launch or exit.
