Scotts Ferry Landing on SC side of Clarks Hill Lake, 1.3 miles N on Hwy 28 from end of hwy that crosses the dam. SFL is the most popular windsurfing spot on the lake. Excellent fetch for all directions from NNW around to W to SW - 85% of our prevailing wind. Easy vehicle access and parking with lighting and bathroom facilities. Good security. Nice rigging areas -- pinestraw and some grass -- only steps from the water. To aid in easy water access, the Corps left the old concrete boat ramp in place at request of the windsurfing community when the new ramps were built. We consider it "our" ramp. Wind only shows from specific weather events - primarily cold fronts from late Sept. to April -- but, we also get hurricane remnants and -- believe it or not - some hot-air, weird seabreeze wind in late May/early June every year. All in all -- pretty sweet for a southestern US lake windsurfing venue.
