Scraggane is a great spot on the northern shore of the Maharees (near Castlegregory). It doesn't experience the same swells that make the western shore one of the best wave-sailing spots in Europe, but it does get the same strong, clean winds. So, it is a super spot for flat-water windsurfing. West to North-west winds are best. There's a big long sandy beach to launch from.
