Excellent in any kind of northerly, particularly Northwest. Pull into the South Beach parking lot, & rig in the lee of the pumping station. If it's going off, you'll see a lot of folks rigging frantically.
Really good for surf; the waves seem to break nicer at the "blue stairs".
If it's South to Southwest try the North Beach on the other side of the peir. It is quite a hike from the parking lot to the water.
