This is not the actual launch site but can be used as a launch. The wind is generally lighter here and sometimes doesn't fill in to this spot. The main launch is west of this site and can be easily spotted on the map. The SWS manages the site for the main launch and charges a $15 day fee for use of the site. Memberships can be purchased.

The season runs from May-Oct with mid June-mid Sept being the best months. The water is cold for the most part but you usually can wear a shorty by mid July-August. Otherwise a 4/3 will do for the rest of the season.

The wind is mainly a thermal and works like clock work. Starts at 10:00 and can end at 7:00 or 8:00. Get there early on weekends as the beach can get quite busy. Frontal winds also work but are usually quite gusty. Predominant winds are 20-25 knots but it can be anywhere from 10-35 knots with fronts. VKS does a detailed weather report each morning with tides wind conditions and probability. Check the graph and look for hotter temps in Whistler, Pemberton and Lillooet.
