Public parking at the end of the dirt road with access to the pond on the inside and Vineyard Sound on the outside. The dirt road is 2 lanes separated by a natural divider, one of the roads is rougher than the other, the 2 lanes are not for traffic going the other direction -- last I checked you were supposed to use the left road going to the beach.
The pond gets too shallow at low tide to windsurf with a deep fin but is always good for kitting and usually good if you have a freestyle fin. The pond is ok in every direction but east but is best when the wind is coming from the north to North West.
The outside can be really crazy. There is a lot of current that always runs to the west which creates a shallow spot of water 600yds or more off the beach called middle ground. This is a popular fishing spot and there will usually be some boats and wild life out there but if the wind is coming from the west it is the best tide against current bump and jump conditions you can ask for. With the current and fish out there try not to get too separated from your rig.
You will usually not see other people sailing here unless it is an perfect day for sailing outside but the inside is a great place to learn and if you have friends who don't sail they can sit on the beach just feet away from where you can rip jibes on the inside.
