The North shore is very good for north west and north winds. There is a nice parking, a good lawn for rigging, and a beach area with small stones. The south side is an ok launch for south east to south winds, but anything else is gusty. Neither sides are good for kites as there are many trees. Summer brings a $7 charge, unless you have an NYS Empire passport. Many times they will charge on the south side entrance, but not on the north side.
