Windsurfing near The Wall

There are a few launches along a stretch of gravel road (John Day Dam road) that make up the "Wall". When the wind is right (strong SW) and the current is fast, the swell here is wonderful.
Rigging is limited to mostly gravel areas, and the launches are somewhat nastier than the more civilized sites. There may or may not be a porta-potty in the area, depends on the season and where you stop. Road side parking can be tight on big days.
To access, drive in past the state park, staying on the private road that leads to the town of Maryhill and the orchards. Drive past it all until the road turns to gravel, continue on until you see a good launch - or more likely, cars and sailors.
