Vama Veche is a famous hippie like resort in Romania at the border to Bulgaria, at the Black Sea.
At Vama Veche you can lay your tent on the beach, park your car near if you are lucky and can find a parking place in full season, and ..... go windsurfing.
You have different other options for accomodation but nothing fancy, still there is a problem as there is no windsurf and kite club where you can safely deposit your quiver by night. Most of the windsurfers prefer camping on the beach and keeping the equipment by the tent.
In full season which is July and August the beach is full of tents - maybe 400-500 and more than 1500 in the weekend, you can still windsurf whenever you want but you have to go further away and pay attention to all the crowd near the shore. Kite Boarding in this period is difficult as the beach is overcrowded. However, in this period the night parties are literally insane, thousands of young people at more than 20 beach clubs, you have to be there to believe. So, camping further north or south is a good idea, otherwise you will not be able to sleep as the music goes on till 4 or 5 o'clock in the morning.
In July and August however the wind is not very good, only 5-10 windy days per month.You may have about 10 good days for ~9-12knots formula riding in a month or about 3-7 good days for freeride.
There is no dominant wind, you may encounter either south or north wind which are sideshore or onshore or offshore wind. Strong winds good for freeride are generally north and south winds and the weak onshore and offshore winds are good for formula.
The best situation is when the south wind blows.
In september there are some strong winds and the water is still warm.
While it's not the best location for those looking exclusively for windsufing and kiteboarding, it is still a very esoteric place to be if you want to experience some intense and crazy days and nights and still go windsurfing when you feel like.
