Windsurfing near Youghal, Claycastle

Loads of parking and plenty grass for rigging either in front or at the back of the car park.

Works in all directs from NE, through S to SW.

Low tide is generally flat-ish water, mid tide it gets choppy with short sharp swell, and at high tide the swell gets bigger, never breaking into a wave until it's nearly right on shore, but there's no real dump. It can be a long walk to the water at low tide.

Strong SE fills Youghal Bay with swell and Claycastle can get very mushy with a bit of a rip, better off going to the Redbarn end of the strand.
